National Solidarity

The Center for Community Engagement, Learning, and Leadership at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La., invites all colleges and universities to share a moment of silence on Monday, April 23, the one-week anniversary of the Virginia Tech tragedy in Blacksburg, Va.

We suggest that a moment of silence be observed at noon, EST; 11 a.m., CST; 10 a.m., MST; and 9 a.m., PST. We also suggest that white ribbons be worn in observance of the VT Solidarity Project established by Minnesota State University, Mankato. The Solidarity Project invites schools and individuals to create a display on their campus, in their offices, or near their homes that includes 32 white ribbons, representative of the 32 deaths at Virginia Tech.
